I chose however to go with an old rental instead of a new car rental. I did the web thing & got a great deal with GO Rentals. It turned out to be 19 days because of flying time but it was about $650 au when the conversion was worked out. We got a car 224000 on speedo automatic transmission and it went very well. It was insured + an extra driver and I chose to reduce the excess on the insurance option also they have the road assist as part of the package. If we had gone new car rental we would have been looking $1000 + au ON the other hand if there are only 2 of you going I saw some great rental vans with bed kitchen sink etc they are very highly painted in lovely graphics too I cant remember the name but they were $35 per day if you want to take your accomodation with you & have less than 3 people to worry about.
